What does BT stand for in Burberry?

The TB stands for company founder Thomas Burberry. The changes have not gone unnoticed by investors, with Burberry's shares up 38 percent since his appointment was announced in March.

Why is the Burberry logo BT?

Last August, Burberry got a face lift when its new chief creative officer, Riccardo Tisci, revealed a new brand logo and "TB" monogram print. In a nod to Burberry's founder Thomas Burberry, this print was the first time the luxury house had changed its look in 20 years.

Tisci has said he got the idea for the monogram from a drawing of Thomas Burberry's initials he found in Burberry's archive, and together with graphic design legend Peter Saville, created the interlocking “TB.” Burberry had high hopes for it right away.

The current Burberry visual identity was created in 2018 and is a reflection of the new era for the brand. It represents a modern and young approach to design, emphasizing the progressive and energetic character of the label and its willingness not only to follow the current new trends but also to create them.

Alongside the new logo, Burberry unveiled a new monogram print featuring interlocking T's and B's (for the brand's founder, Thomas Burberry). To me, this move reflects the brand's effort to bridge the gap between the past and the future — and to mark the present as a new era in Burberry's history.

Is TB a Burberry?

The TB bag is defined by its distinctive Thomas Burberry monogram clasp – inspired by an original archive drawing of our founder's initials.

Is Burberry and Thomas Burberry the same?

Thomas Burberry, which is priced 30 to 40 percent below Burberry's core London collection, is aimed at women and men 16 to 30 years old. It is designed by a newly formed creative team overseen by the brand's design director Christopher Bailey.
